Terms of Service

Welcome to Foreteam! By creating an account or using our golf partner matching service — available as a mobile app, with fore.team as our website — you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and the operator of Foreteam named in Section 11 (Contact).

1. Service Description

What Foreteam Does

• Proposes compatible golf partners at the courses you choose, based on skill level and availability
• Lets you chat with your matches in the app to arrange rounds
• Lets you rate a partner after playing (one rating per person) — ratings feed a reputation shown to other users
• Sends push notifications about matches and messages (you can disable these in your device settings)

What Foreteam Does NOT Do

• We do not book tee times
• We do not arrange transportation
• We do not guarantee matches will occur
• We do not operate or manage golf courses. Course names and locations come from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL) and from our members; they may be incomplete or out of date
• We do not verify users' identity, age, handicap, club membership or golfing ability, and we do not run background checks. Handicaps, skill levels and courses are what people type about themselves, not something we confirm. The only exceptions are the "Instructor" and "Club-verified" badges, which we grant by hand after a member shows us evidence — they say a claim was checked once, not that we vouch for the person
• We are not a party to any arrangement you make with another golfer, or to any booking, green fee or agreement between you and a golf course

2. Eligibility

To use Foreteam you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age. Foreteam arranges rounds with people you have not met, and that is an adult's decision. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it
• Have a valid email address you control — sign-in works via a one-time code sent to your email
• Agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at our discretion.

3. Accounts & Registration

• Sign in with your email address and the 6-digit one-time code we send you — there are no passwords
• Provide accurate information — your name, skill level, availability, and courses
• One account per person; duplicate accounts may be removed
• Keep access to your email account secure — anyone with access to your inbox could sign in as you
• Update your profile anytime in the app
• Delete your account anytime via Settings → Delete account (see the Privacy Policy for what is removed and what stays anonymised)

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to:

• Provide honest information about your skill level
• Be respectful to other members
• Follow golf course rules and etiquette
• Use Foreteam only for its intended purpose

You must not:

• Harass, threaten, or abuse other members — in chat or in person
• Send spam or use Foreteam for commercial purposes or solicitation
• Ask other members for money, loans, gifts, investments or payment details, or gamble with members you met here
• Post or send unlawful content, or content that infringes someone else's rights
• Create fake accounts or impersonate others
• Upload inappropriate profile photos or content
• Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt our systems
• Scrape or collect user data

5. Matching & Communication

• The service proposes compatible golf partners at the courses you choose, based on skill level and availability
• We cannot guarantee you will receive a match or find a partner
• Once matched, you chat with your partner in the app to arrange a round — coordinating is up to you
• Foreteam is not involved in tee time bookings or any related costs
• In Explore you can see golfers whose home course is near yours and invite one to a round; they can accept or decline, and you can do the same
• After playing a round, you may rate your partner — one rating per person. Ratings feed a reputation shown to other users. Ratings are other members' opinions, shown as given; we do not edit them, but we remove ratings that are abusive or plainly false, and you can report one from the app
• You can block any user and report any user or content from the app. We review reports and act on them, including removing content and suspending accounts
• These Terms cover how you behave towards other members on the course as well as in the app. If we learn about harm between members during or around a round arranged here, we may act on it as if it had happened in the app

Your Content

• You own the content you create — your messages, photos, videos and voice messages remain yours
• You grant us a licence to store, process, and display that content as needed to operate the service (e.g. delivering your messages, showing your approved photo to other users)
• We may remove content that violates these Terms, including profile photos

6. Meeting Other Golfers Safely

Foreteam introduces people who have not met. Everything after the introduction happens between you and the other golfer, on a golf course we do not run.

What we ask you to do

• Arrange to meet at the club or course, in a place where staff and other players are around — never at someone's home
• Tell someone you trust where you are playing and with whom
• Travel to and from the course yourself, so you can leave whenever you want
• Keep the conversation in the app until you are comfortable; don't share your home address or documents
• Never send money to another member, and treat any request for money as a reason to report them
• If something feels wrong, leave. You owe no one a round of golf

Risks you take on

Two kinds of risk come with what we do, and by using Foreteam you freely choose to accept both.

• Meeting someone new. We do not verify who people are or what they say about themselves. Treat a match as a stranger until you have met them.
• Playing golf. Golf carries inherent risks of injury — struck balls and clubs, buggies, uneven ground, weather and the condition of the course. These risks exist whoever you play with, and they are yours and the course operator's, not ours.

7. Content, Reports & Moderation

You are responsible for what you write, send and upload. Content that breaks these Terms or the law does not belong here. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users: when a report reaches us, we review it within 24 hours, remove the offending content and eject the member who provided it.

How we moderate

• We may review profile photos and other content, and we remove what breaks these Terms or the law
• Every member can block another member, and report a member from inside the app, describing what was wrong (a message, photo, video or voice message)
• Anyone — including people who do not use Foreteam — can report content they consider illegal, by email to hello@fore.team. Tell us what the content is, where you saw it and why you believe it is unlawful, and give us a way to reply
• We confirm that we received your report, look at it without undue delay, and tell you what we decided
• We aim to answer reports about safety within 24 hours, and other reports within 3 working days

What we may do about it

• Remove a photo or a message, hide a profile, limit matching, or suspend or close an account
• Decisions are made by a person, not automatically
• When we restrict your content or your account, we tell you what we did, why, whether an automated tool was involved, and how to challenge it. Write to hello@fore.team and a human will look at it again
• You can also complain to us about anything else in the service by email; we answer complaints within 14 days

8. Disclaimers & Liability

Foreteam is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, that you will find golf partners, or that matches will lead to actual rounds.

Our role is to introduce golfers and to run the app well: to moderate content, to act on reports, and to keep the service secure. We are responsible for doing that part properly.

What we are not responsible for is the conduct of other members and what happens on the course, because we neither choose your partner for you nor run the course: rounds you agree to play, what another member says or does before, during or after a round, injuries and accidents on the course, and anything a golf club or course operator does or fails to do. You decide whom to meet and whether to play, and the risks described in Section 6 are ones you accept.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in harmful, abusive, or fraudulent activity. If you believe your account was suspended in error, contact hello@fore.team to appeal.

Right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA (including Norway and Iceland), the UK or Switzerland, you may withdraw from this agreement within 14 days of creating your account without giving a reason — by deleting the account in the app or by emailing us. Because the service starts at once when you join, withdrawing simply ends it. You lose nothing by it: Foreteam is free.

You may terminate at any time by deleting your account in the app (Settings → Delete account). Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone; the Privacy Policy describes what is removed and what stays anonymised.

If you downloaded Foreteam from the App Store, Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the app or its content; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Poland. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of any mandatory protections under the law of your country of residence — including, for residents of Norway, Iceland, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or a US state, any consumer rights that country or state does not let you waive. If you are an EU consumer, you may also turn to an alternative dispute resolution entity in your Member State.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change, and we will notify users of significant changes in the app or by email. Continued use of Foreteam after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you don't agree, please stop using the service and delete your account.
